MISSION RESTAURANT OPEN - EATERAZ.COM
10/15/2008 - Partners Terry Ellisor & Brian Raab, are ready, willing and able to see you at their new restaurant. The space which formerly was inhabited by Tom Kaufman’s failure, Union Wine Bar & Grill, has been revamped, re-tooled and re-opened.
The Mission features latin-inspired cuisine with flavors from Argentina, Peru, and even a hint of Mexico. Pork is the star of the menu, unless you ask Ellisor, who will battle for the Beef Filet. The Pork Shoulder a.k.a. Pork Butt, is served with fresh corn tortillas presented on a single salt brick (their signature design element in the restaurant.) The pork alone is worth the trip.
The menu is not set in stone, as it will continue to evolve over the next few weeks as surely the rest of the place will.
With a casual and low key ambiance very closely resembling Ellisor’s Zinc Bistro, Chef Matt Carter’s food is allowed to take the center stage.
